Welcome to Japan! Upon arrival at Tokyo Narita or Haneda Airport, your driver will meet you at the arrival exit point and take you to your Tokyo accommodation by shared taxi. After check in at your hotel, you will have free time to explore the metropolitan city of Tokyo at your leisure.

Today, try your hand communicating with local people in the area! Make your way to the designated meeting point to embark on a Japanese conversational starter course which you will then put into practice, using the phrases you learned while shopping and sightseeing at Tsukiji Outer Market, accompanied by your Japanese Language Instructor. This is a highly recommended course for first time travellers and Japanese language beginners who want to immerse themselves in the Japanese experience and really make the most of their travels to Japan. Armed with your new found conversational skills, spend the afternoon at leisure sightseeing around Tokyo and engaging with the locals!  In the evening, head to Shinjuku to witness the hyped and extravagant Robot Show with gigantic robots; an “Only-in-Japan” experience!

Day 3

Tokyo

This morning, make your way to the designated meeting point and strap yourself in a go-kart in your favourite cosplay to drive on the roads of Tokyo! This delightfully fun 2-hour experience drives by Shibuya, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi and Shinagawa. Please note participants must have an international driver’s license. Spend the afternoon freely at your leisure exploring Tokyo City before this evening, when you will join a Night Food Tour. Start at a 1950s rustic bar street to try some skewers and have a drink. Then make your way to Kabukicho, the largest entertainment and red light district in Japan. Try Tonkotsu Ramen and local sushi that you will surely find delicious! After that, move into Golden Gai alley that has 200 small pubs and stalls. This night tour gives you a glimpse into the nightlife in Tokyo. At the conclusion of the tour, the rest of the evening is yours to spend at leisure.

Day 4

This morning, make your way to the designated departure point and travel by bus to spend the day at one of Japan’s most popular theme parks, Fuji-Q Highland! This theme park is best known for its exhilarating, record-breaking rollercoasters and elaborate anime-themed rides and attractions. Thrill seekers can brace themselves on “Eejanaika,” the roller coaster with the highest number of spins in the world, or “Takabisha” with the steepest drop in the world at 121 degrees! With about 40 different attractions, there is something for everyone at Fuji-Q Highland catering to the brave and daring, and families too. Head back to Shinjuku by coach in the evening at around 20:00.

Enjoy a free day at leisure sightseeing at your own pace in Tokyo. Recommended sightseeing areas include the old downtown area of Asakusa for Senso-ji Temple; Tokyo’s oldest temple, and Nakamise Shopping Street. Also popular is the Imperial Palace and TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN® where you can explore Japan’s tallest structure freely (admission fee required to access TOKYO SKYTREE® observation decks). The Odaiba area is perfect for taking photos of Tokyo’s beautiful rainbow bridge, and of course, Shinjuku and Shibuya provide ample opportunity to experience the heart of Tokyo and see the famed Hachiko dog statue and congested scramble crossing.

Day 6

Tokyo - Kyoto

This morning, check out and make your way to Shinagawa Station to catch one of Japan’s world famous bullet trains to Kyoto. Upon arrival in Kyoto, leave your luggage at your hotel and make your own way to the designated meeting point for a Samurai Kembu Swordplay Performance, where you can experience a full Samurai Kembu Sword Dance lesson with a chance to try on a traditional samurai costume as well as a chance to watch and live performances from the Kembu Masters. Following the conclusion of this experience, the afternoon/evening is yours to spend at leisure exploring Japan’s ancient capital at your leisure.

Kyoto

This morning, make your own way to the designated meeting point and join a morning cycling tour that will begin near Kyoto Station. Cycle through the backstreets of Kyoto city with the English-speaking guide to explore real Kyoto, which cannot be accessed by cars. This 15km cycling tour visits Geisha Quarters Miyagawa-cho, Ishibei Koji Alley, the Gion district, Yasaka-jingu Shrine, Shirakawa River and Heian-jingu Shrine. The tour will end at Kyoto Station between 12:30 and 13:00. Please note that participants on this tour must be between the ages of 12 and 70 and be 155cm in height or taller. The afternoon is free at leisure for you to explore the old capital of Kyoto and its many tourist attractions. We recommend taking in sights such as Arashiyama Sagano Bamboo Grove - Explore beautiful bamboo forests and historic temples set among the sublime natural environment.

Kyoto

Enjoy a full day free at leisure to explore Kyoto and it’s surrounds.  If you’re feeling adventurous, why not make the short train trip to nearby Nara and Kyoto?  (train travel not included in tour costing. Please purchase on the spot at the time of travel). Nara’s Todai-ji Temple which houses the Great Buddha, and Nara Park where many tame deer roam freely. Also visit colourful Kasuga-taisha Shrine, with 3,000 lanterns. A little closer to Kyoto and worth a visit is the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, famous for the walkway of 1,000 orange Torii gates.

Kyoto - Mt. Koya

Day 9

Kyoto - Mt. Koya

Today, your main suitcase will be transferred directly to your hotel in Osaka. Please pack an overnight bag for travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mt. Koya. Check out of your Kyoto hotel and make your own way from Kyoto by train and take the cable car via Gokurakubashi to Mt. Koya, one of Japan’s most magical and peaceful destinations. The small mountaintop Buddhist community of Mt. Koya is free to explore at your leisure. In the evening, dine on Japanese-shojin Ryori (Monk’s food - vegetarian dishes) for dinner at the temple.

Mt. Koya - Osaka

Today, start the morning like a Buddhist Monk with a vegetarian breakfast and learn about the history of Mt. Koya in a lecture. Afterwards, spend further free time at leisure before making your own way back to Osaka. Check into your hotel and relax before heading to the designated meeting point to join the Osaka Night Food Tour in the evening. Starting at the bright and busy Dotonbori, sample Kushikatsu (deep fried skewers), Yakitori (chicken skewers) and Takoyaki (octopus grilled balls). Next, your guide will lead you towards a narrower alley to a local Izakaya and unorthodox bar building. Finish up the tour with a local street dessert! After the tour, the evening is yours to spend at leisure.

Day 4: 1 Day Fuji-Q Highland "Q Pack Liner"! -1 Day Free Pass & Round Express Bus Ticket-

※The bus is always a non-smoking transportation. There will be a short break about every two hours at Highway Service Posts.

Day 7: Real Kyoto Back Street Guided Cycling Tour
※Participants on this tour must have experience riding a bicycle and be able to ride a bicycle on their own without issue. No refunds will be given to customers who are unable to ride a bike on the day of the tour.
※The tour route is about 15 km in total. This tour will be conducted even in the case of rain. Rain gear will be provided for free in the case of rain.
※In the case of rain, this cycling tour may be changed to a walking tour, depending on requests from participants. If so, the route will partially be changed.
※This tour will not enter Heian Jingu Shrine's Shin-en garden.
※Participants on this tour must be between ages 12 and 70, and be 155 cm in height or taller.

Day 9:  Mt. Koya 2 Day Tour - Without Guide
※This is an unguided plan without an English-speaking guide or tour conductor. Information on how to pick up your train tickets, the itinerary and an English map will be sent to your accommodation location by the day before the tour. Before boarding the Nankai Electric Railway, go to the Nankai Information Center and pick up your tickets. Ticket pick up is available starting from the day before tour departure.
※Customers may board a train departing at their preferred time. However, additional fees will be required for limited express trains (from JPY 780/person). (As of June 1, 2017)
※The accommodation location will be specified in the itinerary sent to you by the day before the tour The tour booking charge for person is the same regardless of the number of persons.
